In an effort to save lives this festive season, Gauteng Department of Health MEC Hope Papo will tomorrow, Wednesday, 12 December 2012 donate blood at Cresta Shopping Centre in Randburg.
This blood is vitally needed by hospitals especially during the holidays as the number of people in need of surgery or blood transfusion increases due to road accidents amongst other reasons.
This is done in support of South African National Blood Service (SANBS) in their attempts to collect blood.
MEC Papo also urges communities to give a gift of blood and save a life this festive season.

MEC Papo will also later in the day visit the George Mukhari Academic Hospital in Garankuwa, Tshwane to assess the hospital’s readiness for the festive season.
