MEC for the Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform Zoleka Capa cordially invites members of the media to attend a graduation ceremony for traditional leaders at Tsolo Rural Development and Agriculture Institute.
The traditional leaders, as custodians of communal land where the Department is making great strides in ploughing, were trained in agriculture related courses.
The Hon MEC initiated the trainings after she identified the need to intensify new ways of ploughing and farming among the rural people and traditional leaders were chosen to lead the transformation.
The leaders were trained in livestock control and management as well crop production in a bid to ensure the leaders understood the Department’s mandate of putting food on top of marginalized communities’ tables.
MEC Capa, Traditional Affairs MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane and chairperson of House of Traditional Leaders Nkosi Ngangomhlaba Matanzima will be handing out certificates to traditional leaders and passing messages of hope.
