The MEC for Human Settlement, Safety and Liaison, Helen Sauls-August, will hold a sport against crime campaign in Aberdeen and she will be awarding the winning teams on the day.
The Sport Against crime Campaign is one of the initiatives by the Department of Safety and Liaison to advance the Provincial Crime Prevention Strategy through intense community mobilisation focusing on crime reduction strategies and oversight over the South African Police Service (SAPS).
The Community of Aberdeen has in the recent past experienced an increase in incidences of rape and murder that has proven to be a challenge to crime prevention strategies of the SAPS. These incidences takes place within the family and murder taking place amongst friends who have been drinking together.
