MEC Helen Sauls-August visits schools in Nelson Mandela Metro

The MEC for Human Settlements, Safety and Liaison, Helen Sauls-August will be undertaking school visits in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro from 14 to 16 January 2013. These visits are aimed at assessing the readiness of schools for the start of the 2013 school year. During the visit, MEC will interact with school management and governance structures on various challenges and successes.

The MEC has over the past two years visited various schools throughout the province as part of an Executive Council decision to prioritise school visits in order to unlock service delivery challenges. As a result there would be a vigorous roll out of the Crime Prevention Protocol to enhance safety measures in schools that will allow for a conducive and enabling learning environment.

These visits will focus on the following schools: St Thomas High, Chapman High, Limekhaya High and John Walton High.
