Following the eviction of residents in Alexandra, Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Jacob Mamabolo promised to assist the affected residents. Some were taken to Alexandra community hall, some to Marlboro emergency centre. During this time MEC Mamabolo promised to find an alternative place for the affected families and since then the construction of 91 transitional residential units (TRU) begun.
Tomorrow on Wednesday 25 June 2014 MEC Mamabolo will be handing over the first 10 TRUs. Whilst the construction is ongoing, MEC Mamabolo has requested that those that are ready be allocated immediately.
