MEC Faith Mazibuko opens community libraries in Gauteng, 3 Nov

More libraries delivered for communities of Gauteng 

The programme to provide and build more libraries for communities of Gauteng continues with 2 new ones being opened this week.

Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Ms. Faith Mazibuko will, on Friday, 03 November 2017, open a community library in Naturena –south of Johannesburg- and a modular library at Khutsong all in one day.  

The department would be opening its 9th library since the beginning of the year, with more still to open before the end of the financial year.

The much needed facilities will bring services to many including learners, students and people looking for jobs. They will offer internet services including free Wi-Fi. The programme to build libraries is more about promoting and inculcating the culture of reading and learning and supporting schools.

MEC Faith Mazibuko will be joined by officials from local municipalities of City of Joburg for the Naturena library and Merafong City for the Khutsong one.
