MEC for Economic Development Nkosiphendule Kolisile to launch the first Government-Owned Automotive Training Academy

The MEC for Economic Development will launch the Gauteng Automotive Training Academy in Pretoria on Wednesday, 14 November 2012.

The learning institution is a joint effort between the Gauteng Provincial Government and Nissan South Africa.

The academy will open its doors to learners in January 2012 and is expected to train approximately 1 000 learners per year.

This project is part of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development's efforts and commitment to growing the automotive industry in the province and enhancing its competitiveness.

The Academy will address the dire skills shortage in the automotive industry in the province.
