Tomorrow, Friday 7 August 2015, Minister of Transport and Public Works , Donald Grant, and Executive Mayors of both the Central Karoo District Municipality (Councillor EZ Njadu) and the Beaufort West Municipality (Alderman Truman Prince), will officially open the Merweville Road out in the Karoo.
This over 6 year-long project, broken up into three phases, has been implemented in partnership between the Provincial and Municipal tiers of government. The project has seen both the construction and upgrading of the Merweville road from unsurfaced to surfaced, and is likely to have far-reaching socio-economic benefits for the greater Central Karoo region.
Minister Grant and Mayors Njadu and Prince will preside over the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Minister Grant will also deliver the key note address focussed on the project and its various milestones.

Time: 10h00 (Meeting at the former construction camp, which is 17kms from the N1. There is a gate on the eastern side of the road where parking has been arranged. Thereafter guests will move to VGK Kerksaal in Merweville)
