Tomorrow, 15 July 2015, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, will conduct an oversight visit to youth holiday programmes in Manenberg, funded by the Department of Community Safety.
The Youth Safety and Religion Partnership (YSRP) Programme is a flagship initiative of the Department of Community Safety aimed specifically at increasing safety through implementing targeted anti-social behaviour and youth initiatives in partnership with the religious fraternity of the province.
Though the school holiday is drawing to a close, Minister Plato continues to visit the opportunities Government is providing to help ensure the safety of young people during the June holiday period.
During this June holiday, the YSRP programme saw safety partnerships built with at least 119 religious institutions, in more than 60 communities, reaching more than 11 000 youth, in high priority communities.
