The MEC for Police, Roads and Transport Honourable Butana Komphela will visit St John Methodist Church at Batho Location in Bloemfontein on Sunday, 2 June 2013 to pray for community safety. The Church service will start at 8:00am.
The fight against Crime requires an integrated approach which includes inculcating decent values. Our churches teach values of caring and promote upright and moral citizens. It is with this in mind that MEC Butana Komphela will be joining hands with church the leaders to pray for safer communities which are free from Crime, drugs and alcohol abuse.
Our law enforcement agencies, supported by Churches need to strengthened cooperation to reduce Crime in the Province, particularly war against unlicensed alcohol outlets which give rise to substance abuse and alcoholism amongst the youth.
MEC Butana Komphela together with church leaders are expected to pray for youth to be protected from harm in the areas where they live, that they will be strong to say no to drugs and gangsterism. They are also expected to pray for law enforcement agencies to have ever-increasing vision and passion for the work they have been called to do, and that they will receive much wisdom to help all those in need of their assistance.
