 MEC Beverley Schafer and Alderman James Vos to conduct airport site visit

Minister of Economic Opportunities in the Western Cape, Beverley Schäfer and City of Cape Town Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, Alderman James Vos, will be conducting a site visit at Cape Town International Airport on Thursday to discuss future upgrade plans.

The airport, which recently won the Skytrax award for Best Airport in Africa for the fourth year running, will be undergoing a multi-billion Rand expansion project which will include re-alignment of the runway, a refurbishment of the domestic terminal and an expansion of the international terminal.

They will be briefed by CTIA General Manager Deon Cloete, conduct a tour of the facility, and meet some of the airport staff. Members of the media are invited to attend.

Time: 9.30 am. The programme will run for about an hour
Venue: Media Centre, International Arrivals corridor, Cape Town International Airport.
