The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Finance, Belinda Scott, will officially launch a series of the Pre-Budget Road-shows in the province on Tuesday (28 October 2014) at Dannhauser.
The roadshows serve as the forum of engaging and listening to the views of the business sector and communities of the province on what they would like to see in the next year (2015/2016) budget allocations.
This consultation marks the first Pre-Budget Road-show for the next financial year. Dannhauser Municipality Mayor, Councillor J.P. Phakathi, will accompany the MEC when interacting with people to get more insight on their needs as the province prepares for the next year budget.
This engagement is also in line with the provincial government’s initiative to encourage public participation in the provincial budget allocations and to promote transparency as well as encouraging the culture of saving and spending wisely during the festive season.
Communities and business sector in the province are encouraged to participate and to give tips to MEC Scott at these road-shows which are aimed at communicating the planned budget allocations, educate and empower communities so that they can make informed contribution in the shaping of the provincial budget.
