Western Cape Social Development Minister, Adv. Albert Fritz, will address the second Youth Skills Transfer Programme (YSTP) graduation ceremony of 60 youth participants in Mossel Bay.
The YSTP is an initiative of the Department of Social Development (DSD) in partnership with the Community Chest and Cape Nature, and has already seen a first group of 60 youth from the West Coast region graduate. The young participants come from the communities of Mossel Bay, George and Knysna and are undergoing training and workshops offered in 2 blocks of 5 days each. The workshops cover basic principles and practical skills in;
- project management
- event management
- financial management
- business skills
- resource mobilisation
- marketing and life-skills.
The YSTP offers a customized package of skills development workshops for youth who are not educated, employed, skilled or trained, and is set to benefit 390 young people throughout the province.
There will be opportunities for interviews and photographs.
