In a boost for food security, Alan Winde, MEC of Economic Opportunities, will provide Khayelitsha residents with the tools they need to grow communal food gardens.
Tomorrow, MEC Winde will visit two local food gardens the Khula Mntwana Food Garden and the Siyazama Food Garden to hand over suitcases containing the starter kits needed to start a food garden.
The visit forms part of an ongoing programme from the Western Cape Department of Agriculture to ensure households can meet food security needs.
