The Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) will officially install Minister for Public Service and Administration, Lindiwe Sisulu, MP as its Chancellor.
Minister Sisulu, the first woman Chancellor since MUT opened its doors in 1975 will be taking over from KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Hon Willies Mchunu.
One of the key priorities for the Ministry for Public Service and Administration is to professionalise the public service while rewarding those who excel in the execution of their duties.
This saw the Department of Public Service and Administration hosting the first Annual Batho Pele Excellence Awards to acknowledge excellence in the public service. The latter echoes well with one of the core values of the MUT which is to “strive for excellence in what we do”.
The inauguration event is expected to be attended by among others, Minister for Higher Education, Hon Blade Nzimande and KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Senzo Mchunu.
