Limpopo Provincial Government celebrates International Women’s Day, 8 Mar

The year 2018 marks the centenary of the birth of Mama Albertina Sisulu who was a prominent leader of the people of the country and across the borders of the Republic of South Africa. She was an epitome of selfless service to the people.

In defence of the rights of women and the legacy of Mama Albertina Sisulu the Limpopo Provincial Government led by the Premier,  Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8 March 2018, at Nirvana Community Hall at 9h00 under the theme ”100 years of Albertina Sisulu, the Champion of Women Rights”

During the State of the Province Address the Premier, Mr Chupu Stanley Mathabatha urged the citizens of the country to utilise this year to redouble their efforts to advance the total socio-economic emancipation of the women. International Women’s Day is all about unity, reflection, advocacy and celebrating the social, economic, cultural and achievements of women.

To venerate and recognise the socio, economic and political achievements of women in the province, the provincial government has appointed women in key strategic roles such as Heads of Departments and CEOs in government and State Owned Entities.

The provincial government encourages the private sectors, non government organisations and the civil society to celebrate the International Women’s Day by continuing to empower women with skills development programmes, appointment of women in managerial roles, job and entrepreneurship opportunities.
