The Department of Education in Limpopo will host a three day congress for nurses who work at special schools throughout the country. These are schools that cater for learners with Neurodevelopmental conditions both of physical, intellectual, sensory and congenital nature.
Since its inception during the past 20 years, the congress will be hosted in Limpopo for the first time.
The aim of the congress is multifaceted, amongst others it will be about the recognition status of health staff in special schools, their collaboration with educators and their integrated partnership in educational programmes of Integrated School Health Programmes (ISHP), Care and Support for Teaching and Learning (CSTL) and Screening, Identification, Assessment and Support (SIAS) to enhance the learning abilities of learners with special educational needs.
Top leadership of the department of Education, Health and Social Development will grace the occasion.
