Limpopo Government commemorates Disability Day, 3 Dec

Limpopo Provincial Government will on Sunday the 3rd of December 2017 celebrate International Day of Persons living with Disabilities. This day forms part of the Disability Rights Awareness Month (DRAM) which is annually observed from the 3rd November to 3rd December. The 3rd December is celebrated as International Day of Persons with Disabilities and is also commemorated as National Disability Rights Awareness Day.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities provides the provincial government with an opportunity to promote awareness and mobilize support for critical issues relating to the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society and development. It is also an occasion to draw attention to the benefits of an inclusive and accessible society for all.

This year’s celebration will be held under them “Strengthening self- representation: Young people building on the legacy of OR Tambo and Friday Mavuso towards sustainable and resilient society for all”.

Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha will deliver a keynote address accompanied by the MEC for Socail Development, Mme Mapula Mokaba-Phukwana and other MECs, Capricorn District Executive Mayor Cllr John Mpe and Lepelle-Nkumpi Mayor Cllr Nakedi Sibanda.
