The Limpopo Provincial Government will join the rest of the world to honour and celebrate senior citizens under the theme “Older Persons Human Rights Issue – Together we move South Africa Forward”. Limpopo Government led by Premier, Chupu Stanley Mathabatha and his cabinet will celebrate this day at Enable Community Hall at Sekororo Village in Maruleng Municipality, Mopani District.
Government will take advantage of this event to recognise and embrace senior citizens during the International Day for Older Persons. 1st October is celebrated worldwide as a special day for older persons or senior citizens.
International Day for Older Persons is also a day to appreciate the contribution that older people make to society as repositories of indigenous body of knowledge.
