The Acting Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Education, Mr Jerry Ndou and the Regional Commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) will sign the Service Level Agreement (SLA) to mark the beginning of working relationship between the two institutions. The SLA will see the Department of Correctional Services providing expertise in maintenance and refurbishment of furnisher and infrastructure.
The two institutions have history of supporting each other. The DCS used to release offenders and parolees to amongst others clean school yards and building classrooms. Recently, the DCS built three classrooms at Lwamondo in Vhembe district. The involvement of offenders in community services is part of offender rehabilitation path which prepares the offenders for social reintegration.
The signing of the SLA will take as follows:
