Limpopo Arts and Culture hosts 2015 Provincial Indigenous Games, 12 to 13 Aug

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture will host the annual Provincial Indigenous Games, following the districts competitions that were held in all the five regions of Limpopo. The provincial games are held in preparation of Team Limpopo that is expected to represent the province during the national indigenous games competitions.

The department utilises the games to preserve heritage; promote social cohesion, cultural diversity and nation building. The games impact positively on socio-economic issues such as African identity; cultural diversity; education and training.

Furthermore, the games encourage healthy lifestyles, and discourage unwanted social behaviour by keeping the youth engaged. The sporting codes include the rich indigenous heritage games such as, Morabaraba, Jukskei, Dibeke, Ncuva, Khokho, Diketo, Kgati, Intonga and Drie Stokkies.

The 2015 Provincial Indigenous Games will be held as follows:

Venue: Polokwane Cricket Club, Polokwane Municipality, Capricorn District
