The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane, in the company of the Premier of Mpumalanga, Mr David Mabuza, and other high profile attendees will on 13 September 2014 launch the Mathibela Water Reticulation Project.
The project is as a result of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the department and the province of Mpumalanga in June 2013, which MoU brought in Rand Water as the implementing agent for the project, considering the capacity within the entity.
The objective of the project is to improve the delivery of water and water services to the community within Marite. This will happen by developing and constructing a water reticulation system and connecting municipal customers to the water supply. The village has 321 households comprising a population of 1637.
