Land Claims Commission launches Mobile Lodgement Office for Central Karoo, 25 Jul

The Office of the Regional Land Claims Commissioner: Western Cape will on Saturday, 25 July 2015 launch the Mobile Lodgement Offices that will be receiving land claims from the victims of land dispossession.

The main purpose of this launch is to create create awareness around the mobile unit’s arrival and its schedule for the Central Karoo Community. It should be noted that the Mobile Lodgement Office will travel the province to make sure that government services are accessible to all citizens of the country, irrespective of where they live. As the bus is fitted with technology to process applications from potential claimants, now the process of lodging a land claim will become easier and quicker.

Thus far the Commission on Restitution of Land Rights has received 7310 since the process of re-opening of land claims was opened last July.

The Saturday launch is expected to be attended by senior officials of the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, Executive Mayors from the Central Karoo District, Beaufort West Local Municipality, Prince Albert Local Municipality and Lainsburg Local Munipality.
