Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund hosts a stakeholders networking session with the Mangaung Chamber to discuss COIDA compliance
The Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund (CF) is to host a joint stakeholders networking session in partnership with the Mangaung Chamber of Commerce and Industry to advocate issues of mutual interest, especially in relation to compliance with the compensation for occupational injuries and diseases act (COIDA).
The joint stakeholders networking session is part of the drive by the Compensation Fund to foster relations with its stakeholders. Issues that will come under the spotlight during the breakfast networking session include: the role of Compensation Fund (assessment, return of earnings etc.); legislation amendments; new developments; ICT C-filing; and compliance.
The Compensation Fund recently signed a three-year memorandum of understanding with the Mangaung Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The memorandum provides for regular forums to discuss occupational health and Coida related issues; improve visibility and access to Coida services; provide platform to create awareness and educate stakeholders regarding Coida services; to partner and participate with the Mangaung Chamber of Commerce & Industry on their annual calendar of events country wide; to share available database in order to create awareness on COIDA compliance.
The Compensation Fund is a public entity under the administration of Department of Labour. The Fund’s mandate is to administer the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. The main objective of the Act is to provide compensation for disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by workers, or for death resulting from such injuries or diseases, and provide for matters connected therewith.
The networking session will be held as follows:
Date: 3 November 2017
Venue: Windmill Casino
