Labour hosts Public Service Month service delivery campaign in Pixley ka Seme District, 11 to 14 Sept

Labour on Public Service Month service delivery campaign in the Pixley ka Seme District

The Department of Labour, Northern Cape will be unleashing yet another campaign reaching out to workers, work seekers and stakeholders in Pixley ka Seme District in the areas of Noupoort (11/09/2017), Richmond (12/09/2017), Victoria West (13/09/2017) and Prieska (14/09/2017) to meet and engage with the Department during the service delivery campaign.

The Department together with its entities, Compensation Fund (CF) and Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) will interact with the clients to keep them abreast with legislative amendments, service delivery improvements and benefits of workers.

“These quarterly service delivery campaigns are meant to address the growing need for Department and Funds to interact further with employees and employers to strengthen advocacy of Labour laws and raise awareness of legislative amendments aimed at improving the social security safety nets of employees”. Said Mr Zolile Albanie (Chief Director: Provincial Operations)

The Department of Labour will be using the event for service delivery intervention accompanied by Exhibitions and Advocacy sessions. Therefore workers will be given an opportunity to make enquiries and apply for benefits from UIF and Compensation Fund where applicable.

The Public Employment Services team will also be at hand to assist work seekers with employment opportunities by capturing their CVs to be registered on the Employment Service of South Africa (ESSA) database.

This campaign comes hot in the heels of a similar and successful campaign held in the ZF Mgcawu District (Kenhardt, Keimoes, Kakamas and Groblershoop) in the past quarter (25-27 July 2017).
