KwaZulu-Natal Commissioner Mmamonnye Ngobeni engages managers and cluster commanders, 27 to 28 Jan

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni to engage with managers in the province

Following her previous engagement with managers on all levels on 21 November 2012 the Provincial Commissioner will be engaging with all managers in the province to ensure that the police achieve its vision of a safer province for all.

On Monday, 27 January 2014 the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni will engage with all Provincial Managers and Cluster Commanders whilst on the 28 January she will engage with all managers in the province including Station Commanders.

Commanders will be expected to provide feedback on their efforts to clamp down on crime over the festive season as well as their performance for the first nine months of the financial year.

The program will also include a critical assessment of the police’s performance in terms of their strategic plan and the way forward for the remainder of the financial year. The Provincial Commissioner will also engage with Station Commanders to establish what other challenges they experience on the ground and how they can be overcome.

“There can be no doubt in our mind that this province is a better place because of the collective efforts of all those in the forefront of fighting crime. Despite any comments from our most ferocious critics we should never underestimate the role the South African Police Service plays in keeping this province from falling into anarchy.

If we fail to deal with crime effectively, government will be hampered in its efforts to build our economy and stimulate growth and development in the country. Therefore it is the interests of all parties that crime is engaged through whatever means possible and be viewed as the common enemy that affects all of us irrespective of our status and social standing,” she said.
