More than 100 unemployed youth to receive training in Ficksburg, Free State
Hundred and sixteen unemployed youth from Ficksburg in the Free State will, on Monday 01 June 2015 start with the construction of 76 houses in Setsoto Municipality as part of the 2015 Youth Build.
The National Human Settlements in collaboration with provinces, National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) hosts an annual national youth build as a tribute to the 1976 historic youth march for better education and development.
The Builds are undertaken to commemorate the Youth Month through engaging activities that empower and expose young people to the sector whilst contributing to the provision of human settlements to the elderly, people living with disability and child-headed homes.
This project equip the youth with the necessary construction skills, like plastering, brick laying, painting and roofing.
