Human Settlements Deputy Minister honors fallen women combatants

As part of the department Women’s Month commemoration programme, Human Settlements Deputy Minister, Zou Kota-Fredericks will deliver a key note address at the Nomkhosi Mini memorial lecture in Port Elizabeth.

Before the lecturer, Deputy Minister Kota-Fredericks, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation Pam Tshwete, Eastern Cape MEC for Human Settlements in Eastern Cape, Helen Sauls-August, SANDF Brigadier General, Winnie Bobelo and the Deputy Executive Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, Thando Ngcolombo will lead a procession to the graves of the first MK soldiers to be killed by the Apartheid government, including Nomkhosi Mini for a wreath laying ceremony. Nomkhosi “Mary” Mini was shot dead by members of the notorious Vlakplaas head squad during a raid in Maseru on 19 December 1985.
