Health Ministry to assess the health status in Ekurhuleni

What: Journalists are invited to join the Deputy Minister of Health, Gauteng MEC for Health, and the Mayor of Ekurhuleni in their visit to the Tsakane/ Duduza area to assess the health status in a bid to ensure government attains its aim of achieving a healthier nation where people will live longer and suffer less illness.

When: Wednesday, 27 March 2013. 10h00

Why: Government has tried its utmost since 1994 to ensure that everyone in this country has healthcare. Moreover, the National Health Ministry will visit the Ekurhuleni District on 27 March 2013. The aim of the visit will be to assess the health status of the area location of Tsakane/ Duduza. The Deputy Minister will lead the entourage and will be accompanied by amongst others, Gauteng MEC for Health, the Mayor of Ekurhuleni, and the District Director of Health.

The team will interact with health workers, health facility management, community and other stakeholders through dialogue at the Duduza Resources Centre in an effort to understand the level of service delivery, successes in terms of implementation of programmes and the challenges faced by facilities and the community as a whole.
