Health MEC to welcome Christmas babies

The MEC for Health and Social Development Dr Norman Mabasa is expected to welcome new born babies on Christmas Day.

“As we welcome Christmas babies into this world it is also important for us to promote breast feeding and also make a call to the parents to remember to get proper identification documentation for their children with the Department of Home Affairs as soon as possible.”

The event will be held at Mankweng Hospital’s postnatal ward on 25 December 2012 (Tuesday) at 07h00 and journalists are invited for photo and interview opportunities.

The MEC will release a statement on the number of babies delivered in public health facilities in the province. It is also expected that the MEC will make a public call for ensuring safer pregnancies and child-births in Limpopo and also hand-over gifts to the new born babies.
