Commission for Gender Equality and Mpumalanga House of Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders to sign historic Memorandum of Understanding
The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) in Mpumalanga will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mpumalanga Provincial House of Traditional and Khoi - San leaders (MPHTKL) in Nelspruit.
This MOU is informed by the need for: Promotion of gender equality and culture in a democratic society; application and implementation of indigenous and customary laws within the ambit of gender equality, promotion of Traditional Leaders and their role, eradication of discrimination and all forms of gender-based violence, and the joint execution and implementation of duties of Traditional and Khoi-San leaders in accordance with Chapter of the Constitution.
The MOU will provide the basis for enhanced cooperation between the CGE and the MPHTKL in an endeavour to achieve gender equality. This ceremony will be held as follows:
