The Gauteng Provincial Treasury will publicly open the tender box this Friday and announce the names of companies that submitted bids to manage banking transactions for the provincial government.
The winning bank will manage all the banking transactions including the payment of salaries of 200 000 officials and supplier payments of about R3-billion rand per month.
The tender to provide banking services to the province is part of the “open tender pilot” project which is designed to improve transparency in the awarding of contracts. Members of the public will have an opportunity to view discussions leading up to the award of the contract.
The banking tender closes at 11h00 on Friday, 06 February 2015 and the box will be opened immediately.
Bidders and members of the public are invited to witness the opening of the box, announcement of bidders and prices, as well as the BEE level status.
