Most of the foster parents are uncles and aunties and they are fostering the children to provide a stable family environment where the foster children can grow up in a normal family set up, learning of their family values that prepares them for adulthood.

The Gauteng Department of Social Development in partnership with the South African Appreciation Movement (SAAM) will embark on the campaign.

Actors such as Thembi “Mkhabayi” Nyandeni, Neo Maphaka of CJB, DJ moss H, and other celebrities will form part of the event.

The South Africa’s first ever Uncles Day was held in 2014 at the Ubuntu Kraal, Orlando West in Soweto and it was a great success and it was a real family affair that attracted young and old.

This is also an opportunity to network with like-minded uncles and aunties in a relaxed environment, while enjoying good music, listing to motivational speakers talks and mingle with different personalities.
