Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport to host Women in Construction Roundtable
The Department of Roads and Transport will on Thursday, 05 September 2019, host 100 Women in Gauteng who work in the Construction sector, as part of evaluating their participation in the industry over the past 25 years.
The session seeks to provide a common platform for the department, which is a major stakeholder in the Gauteng City Region's construction sector, with women who are participating in the built industry. This will shine a light on the challenges that women face in the sector and possible solutions to those challenges.
The event will also highlight the contribution of women to the built environment, especially in transport infrastructure. It will also celebrate the achievements of distinguished women in a historically male-dominated sector.
MEC Jacob Mamabolo is expected to address the event.
