Gauteng to host a two-day bikers and cyclists road safety workshop

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport will this weekend, on the 7th and 8th of March 2020, host a two-day Provincial Bikers and Cyclists workshop at the Birchwood Conference Centre in Boksburg, City of Ekurhuleni.

The workshop will address road safety and compliance as it affects the motorbiking and cycling community.

It will also explore various ways in which the provincial government can support non-motorized transport road safety initiatives.

The workshop forms part of the resolutions taken at the Provincial Road Safety Seminar held last year where non-motorized transport and motorcyclists were identified as some of the key stakeholder requiring government support and intervention.

Delegates will work together in developing a provincial road safety strategy aimed at reducing road fatalities by 2030.

This strategy is part of the vision of Growing Gauteng Together with all relevant stakeholder to position the province as a hub of smart mobility, where the movement of goods and people is seamlessly smooth and cost effective.
