Gauteng Premier, David Makhura together with the Mayors of the West Rand District Municipality, will embark on a two-day visit in West Rand to respond to service delivery blockages and engage with the communities in the area.
The purpose of the visit is to assess service delivery to poorest households, broaden economic participation, fight social ills, build social solidarity and to create partnership and behaviour changes.
The two-day programme will start with site visits on day one and culminate in a community meeting on day two.
Some of the sites that will be visited include the Asbestos roofing project site, the new Library which was abandoned by contractors in Kagiso, as well as the Bob Van Reenen Stadium in Krugersdorp.
The visit is also in line with the commitment by Premier Makhura that the fifth administration would be an activist and responsive government that would continuously be working with the communities to find solutions to their problems.
