Gauteng Provincial Legislature hosts public hearings on on the Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority Bill, 21 Feb

The Portfolio Committee on CoGTA and e-Governance in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature is convening Hearings, to receive input from members of the public and stakeholders on the Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority Bill (2022). The Bill, aimed at establishing criteria and procedures for municipal boundary determination, including the demarcation of municipal wards, is a crucial step in shaping the future of municipal governance.

The first public hearing is scheduled as follows:

Time: 10:00 am
Venue: City of Ekurhuleni – Lord Khanyile Hall (Ivory Park)

The Portfolio Committee will convene another physical public hearing on the 28th of February, as well as a virtual public hearing on the 01st of March. Details of these will be shared closer to the time.
The Portfolio Committee looks forward to meaningful engagements and valuable contributions from all stakeholders, which will contribute to shaping the future of municipal demarcation in the province.
