Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane, MECs and NCoP assess service delivery progress in Gauteng

Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane will, together with Members of her Executive Council (MECs), participate in the Gauteng leg of the National Council of Provinces' (NCoP) Provincial Week, which takes place from 16 - 19 April 2013. 

The Provincial Week is one of the key mechanisms established by the NCoP to monitor progress made by municipalities and provincial governments in all nine provinces in delivering services to communities. The focus is communities previously visited by the NCoP.

The NCoP delegation, accompanied by the Executive Council of the Gauteng Provincial Government and Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg Metropolitan Councils, will visit projects in Soweto (particularly Lufhereng housing development); as well as Ekurhuleni areas such as Wadeville, Nigel, KwaThema, Ramaphosa and Eden Park.

Engagement: Briefing meeting with provincial leadership on the state of local government and service delivery in the province
