As part of the ongoing week- long campaign by the Gauteng Provincial Government in partnership with the IEC, Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane, MEC Ntombi Mekgwe and Executive Mayor Mondli Gungubele, will visit the Vosloorus Community to assist Special Voters to register for the upcoming National Elections.
The IEC special voters Registration period started on 7 April 2014 and will end on 17 April 2014. People who are physically infirm, disabled, aged or pregnant qualify as special voters.
Hundreds of eligible voters throughout the Gauteng province, who qualify for special votes in the National Elections on 7 May 2014, have already been assisted with voter education, registration and assistance by the Community development workers (CDW’s) since the beginning of the campaign on Thursday 7 April 2014. CDWs are deployed across the province in scores of clinics, hostels, hospitals, old age residents and other qualifying community members of all the communities were visited to render assistance to eligible special voters.
In taking the campaign forward on the final day set aside for registration of special voters, Premier Mokonyane will address and visit residents of Vosloorus.
