Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development Qedani Mahlangu’s tour of school construction sites headed for Soshanguve and Noordwyk

As part of her tour to check on progress at school construction sites, Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development Ms Qedani Mahlangu will tomorrow Thursday 23 May 2013 visit Soshanguve primary school and Noordwyk primary school, both still under construction.

The visit forms part of a tour that started yesterday, Wednesday 22 May 2013 at the now complete Chief Albert Luthuli primary school in Daveyton and Palm Ridge Secondary school in Thokoza. The department of infrastructure Development currently has 9 schools under construction across Gauteng, with more planned for the 2013/14 financial year.

The MEC’s tour of school construction sites is a precursor to the delivery on the 30th May 2013, of the department’s 2013/14 budget vote, which will outline details of all school building projects for the financial year.

Directions to Soshanguve

  • N1 North to Pretoria
  • As you enter Pretoria the road turns into Potgieter Street (R101)
  • Turn left into WF Nkomo Street (Skinner)
  • Turn Right into Es’kia Mphahlele Street (DF Malan)
  • Drive on that street passing Stats SA office
  • Turn left into R80 to Soshanguve
  • After passing Rosslyn offramp keep left
  • Take the Hebron (R38)
  • Turn left pass 1 set of traffic light at the Mall
  • Turn right on the second sets of lights (Mogwane Street) (M20 Soshanguve North)
  • Continue on the road
  • At the stop sign turn left and at the dead end turn right
  • Take the second left turn and the school will be on your left

Venue: Noordwyk primary school - Midrand

Directions to Noordwyk

  • N1 North offramp on Olifantsfontein
  • Turn left drive past Protea Hotel
  • Travel on Olifantsfontein road which changes to Summit Road
  • Travel towards R55 road passing Savanah hills on your right.
  • Before R55 turn left into Plantation Road,
  • Bend around to the right
  • Turn Left into Garden Road
  • Drive on Garden until it corners with Wattle road
  • The site will be on your left
