Gauteng Legislature receives Office of the Premier’s Forensic Investigation Unit report on 2020/21 Financial Year, 9 Sept

Office of the Premier’s Forensic Investigation Unit to present to the standing committee on  public accounts

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL)’s Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) will convene tomorrow, where the Forensic Investigation Unit in the Office of the Premier will report on the 2020/21 Financial Year.

SCOPA is in the process of considering reports of the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) on the financial statements and performance information of Gauteng Provincial Government Departments and Entities for the year ended 31 March 2021. The Forensic Unit is expected to report on the investigations undertaken and processed by the end of the 2020/21 financial year; focusing on: prior-year investigations; matters reported in 2020/21 Financial Year; preventative measures; consequence management; and capacity to follow-up on the implementation of outcomes of the investigations.  

The Forensic Investigation Unit is scheduled to present from 09h00 till 12h00, thereafter the Standing Committee will consider and adopt its oversight report on GEP; as well as resolution tracking reports on Gauteng Government Departments and Entities.
