Gauteng Legislature holds public hearings on Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority Bill, 28 Feb

On the 21st of February, the Portfolio Committee on CoGTA and e-Governance in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature commenced Hearings to receive input from members of the public and stakeholders on the Independent Municipal Demarcation Authority Bill (2022). The Bill, aimed at establishing criteria and procedures for municipal boundary determination, including the demarcation of municipal wards, is a crucial step in shaping the future of municipal governance.

The 2nd public hearing is scheduled as follows:

The Portfolio Committee will convene its third and final public hearing virtually on March 1, 2024. The Committee looks forward to meaningful engagements and valuable contributions from all stakeholders, shaping the future of municipal demarcation in the province.
