Gauteng Legislature holds public hearings on Bills, 12 Mar

Public hearings

Gauteng Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will hold a Public Hearing to consider submissions on the following Bills:

1. Restitution of Land Rights Amendment Bill (B35B – 2013)
The objective of the bill is to amend the Restitution of Land Rights Act, 1994, so as to amend the cut-off date for lodging a claim for restitution.

2. National Environmental Laws Amendment Bill (B26B-2013)
The objective of the bill is for National Environmental Management Act, 1998, so as to amend certain definitions and to define certain words and expressions; to provide for the review of environmental management instruments.

3. National Environmental Management: Waste Amendment Bill (B32-2013
The objective of the bill is to amend the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008, so as to substitute and delete certain definitions; to exclude the department from the spheres of government that are required to compile integrated waste management plans.

The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development of the Gauteng Legislature, Honourable Nokuthula Sikakane invite all interested parties to a Public Hearing that will deliberate on proposed Bills.
