Gauteng Legislature holds its official opening for 2013.

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature will be hosting the opening of the Legislature at the legislature precinct in Johannesburg on 25 February 2013.

The opening of the Legislature is the main ceremonial event of the parliamentary calendar and is a platform for the Premier of Gauteng to communicate the provincial government’s programme and priorities for the next financial year.

The event will be attended by dignitaries from national government, provincial legislatures, Gauteng provincial government and municipalities, business and community leaders.

The event will commence with a police parade at 09h00 and Premier Nomvula Mokonyane will deliver the State of the Province Address at 10h00.

Members of the media need to be accredited to attend the proceedings as no person will be allowed at the Legislature precinct without valid accreditation.
