SCOPA  convenes hearings with Gauteng government and Entities

The Legislature’s Standing Committee for Public Accounts in Gauteng (SCOPA) will be convening its third and final round of hearings with Gauteng Government and its entities tomorrow. The hearings afford Political Leaders of various arms of Government an opportunity to respond to the Committee’s questions emanating from the Auditor General’s Report on 2018/2019 annual performance.

SCOPA convened its first round of hearings on the 31 October, followed by the second round on Tuesday, 12 November 2019. MECs of Departments appeared before the Committee to account for the financial performance of their various Departments and entities during the year under review. The hearings are part of SCOPA’s oversight mandate over the Gauteng Executive. 

Details of tomorrow’s SCOPA Hearing are as follows:

Venue: ORT Sun International Hotel 

Tomorrow’s hearings will focus on: Office of the Premier; Gauteng Legislature; Gauteng Treasury; e-Government; Gauteng Infrastructure Financing Agency; Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation; and Gauteng Film Commission.

The hearings are open to members of the media.
