GPL Committes to provise oversight visits in Tshwane schools
The Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s (GPL) Portfolio Committees on Education and Infrastructure Development will on Friday, 25 May 2018, conduct joint oversight visits at schools in the Tshwane Region.
As part of contributing towards democracy and accountability, the GPL through its Committees is mandated to conduct oversight and scrutiny over Government Departments in Gauteng in order to create a responsible, transparent and accountable government in the Province.
The purpose of the joint oversight visits to schools in the Tshwane Region is to assess the state of Infrastructure in identified schools with a particular focus on infrastructure management and maintenance.
The GPL recognises the value and importance that infrastructure plays in creating a conducive environment for the delivery of quality teaching and learning in schools and has resolved to undertaking a Focused Intervention Study (FIS) led by the Portfolio Committee on Education as means of driving and fast racking the delivery of quality infrastructure in schools.
