Led by Chairperson, Honourable Lindiwe Lasindwa, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s (GPL) Portfolio Committee on Infrastructure Development will conduct a Committee meeting and an unannounced oversight visit on Friday.
The purpose of the meeting is to table, deliberate upon and adopt the Committee Term Programme; as well as to present the Department of Infrastructure Development’s performance for the 2014/15 Annual Reporting period.

Preceding the Committee meeting, the Portfolio Committee will conduct an unannounced oversight visit to Leratong Hospital. This will be the first visit of its kind by the Committee to Leratong Hospital in the quarter under review. The last oversight visit was conducted in the year 2014. The Committee invited community members to be part of the meeting, allowing a platform for constructive engagement between various stakeholders and the community in an effort to bring the Legislature closer to the people.
About Committee on Infrastructure Development
This Portfolio Committee oversees the implementation of policies, programmes and expenditures of the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (GDID). This includes the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development’s implementation of infrastructure projects on behalf of other client departments such as Health, Education, Agriculture, Rural and Social Development and Education.
