Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi together with MEC for Transport and Logistics Kedibone Diale-Tlabela in partnership with Smarter Mobility Africa, will on Monday, 02 October 2023, launch the 2023 October Transport Month (OTM) Campaign.
The campaign is held under the theme “Siyakha - Growing Gauteng Together through Smart Mobility”.
OTM is a key annual programme aimed at promoting the use of integrated public transport systems in the province. The provincial government will use the event to outline the 2023 OTM Campaign programme for the month and plans for the transport sector across the province.
This will include the launch of the Provincial Transport Management Centre, the unveiling of the new Number Plate Prototype, the launch of Smart Licensing Centres in townships as well as the road safety programme amongst others.
The 2023 campaign is part of the provincial government’s commitment to accelerated delivery of transport infrastructure to support Gauteng’s economic recovery and growth.
As part of the OTM launch, the Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Paul Mashatile will deliver a keynote address at the Smarter Mobility Africa (SMA) Conference Gala Dinner.
The Deputy President will be joined by the Premier of Gauteng Panyaza Lesufi, MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela and senior government officials.
