Gauteng’s MEC for Economic Development Nkosiphendule Kholisile will announce the winners of this year’s Gauteng Innovation Competition at a gala dinner on 15 January 2013.
The competition aims to showcase new ideas and provide the opportunity for innovators to market their ideas. This year, the competition called for innovations that address specific focus areas identified by sector and municipality representatives, and required innovators to complete a draft business plan indicating their expected market and likely investment requirements. It attracted over 100 submissions vying for prizes to the value of R1 million.
The Innovation Hub is a subsidiary of Gauteng Growth and Development Agency, which is an agency of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development. You will have an opportunity to meet the innovators and learn more about their entries.
