Gauteng hosts Sports and Recreation Indaba, 22 Nov

The 2019 Gauteng Sport and Recreation Indaba seeks to expand and promote healthy and active living

To ensure Gauteng remains the Home of Champions and continues producing more champions for the country across various sport and recreational programmes, the province will, on Friday 22 November 2019, host the Sports and Recreation Indaba.

The all-important gathering will be held at the Turffontein Race Course, south of Johannesburg.

Driven by the need to expand, rebuild and develop sport and recreation in the province, the Indaba is set to review the Gauteng Sport Policy Plan, inclusive of recreation. More people are now taking part in recreational sport and arts activities, necessitating the need for more facilities and programmes

The move is aimed at mapping the way forward in transforming the landscape of sport and recreation and ensuring the channels of development are strengthened from grassroots.

Over 600 delegates from various entities including federations, SASCOC, tertiary institutions, government, recreational bodies and more will participate in the Indaba.

The event will take place as follows:
Date: 22 November 2019
Time: 09h00 to 16h00
Venue: Turffontein Race Course, Johannesburg

Address: 14 Turf Club St, West Turffontein, Johannesburg South
